More commercials I can't stand: Virgin Atlantic sets us back 50 years

Apparently they want us to live in a world where the men are the pilots and the businessmen, and the (skinny, white) women are flight attendants dressed in short red skirts and stripper heels. This was a highly sexual ad for an airline. If I didn't know this was for an airline I would've thought it was an alcohol commercial or for underwear. I thought that at any moment the girls were going to rip off their clothes. If they were wanting more male passengers then they probably got it.

This story happened a while ago but ever since I learned about it I couldn't stop thinking about how detrimental patriarchy is for men and women alike. And how, at the same time, it benefits both men and women in strange ways. I'm not sure when this ad was created, so Virgin could be trying to take advantage of "Pan Am" and the "glorious" air travel depicted therein. Regardless, ain't patriarchy grand?
Did anyone else notice that the flight attendants' skirt hems rose and fell in different parts of the ad? I didn't check for other instances, but early in the ad when the women are walking as a group, their skirts appear to be barely "fingertip" length, yet at the end where the two women are talking, their skirts stop just above the knee. So, women who speak have to be covered up? Or, do shorter skirts require silence? WHAT are they trying to tell us?!? I am sooo confused... LOL
I'm really not surprised Virgin took this tact... especially considering they have none.
