Thoughts on sex dolls and robots

Today is brought to you by the letter "C" for CREEPY.

We, unfortunately, know that people who crave sex on demand without strings attached can purchase sex dolls, ranging from your everyday "blow up" doll found in sex shops for $19.95 to high-end models, in which you can customize every aspect of your doll, right down to her pubic hair.

Going even further... a New Jersey company has created the world's first "sex robot," a scantily clad rubber woman named Roxxxy whose mouth stays permanently open and can not only satisfy her owner's sexual needs, but their needs for pillow talk as well.

"Sex only goes so far – then you want to be able to talk to the person," said Douglas Hines, founder of the company that created the robot.

She comes with a variety of prerecorded phrases ("I love holding hands with you," for example) but you can also (brace yourself) connect her to a laptop so she can download updates from the internet to expand her vocabulary and, ahem, capabilities.

Owners can also select different personalities for Roxxxy, from "Wild Wendy" to "Frigid Farrah." GAH.

My main problem with sex dolls that are carefully crafted to emulate women is that it reinforces the idea that women should adopt a passive role during sex - a role that involves becoming a mere hole to be penetrated. Additionally, I speculate that men are attracted to sex dolls because it allows them to have some form of "sex" without the work - without the talking, the seducing, the awkward goodbye afterwards - but the fact is that sex shouldn't come without all those things. Sex involves communicating with another person, whether you wish to see this as a positive or negative aspect. If we start manufacturing sex dolls whose jobs are to shut up and be penetrated, how will men who purchase these dolls behave when it comes time to actually have sex with a real person? It's provocative to suggest that sex dolls can lead to real women being raped, but... I think it can. And more commonly, it can lead to general mistreatment of women: the whole "shut up and get in the sack" mentality that stems from the good ol' patriarchy.

Now, some might argue that this new "sex robot" comes with a personality and a voice, thereby debunking all I've said above. My response is that I see no good coming from this. It's one thing to get sexual satisfaction from a sex toy, but to get emotional satisfaction as well? Isn't this just removing us even further from reality?

Hines said he was inspired to create the robot after a friend died in the 9/11 attacks, and he began to think about preserving his friend's personality for his grieving loved ones to enjoy.

All of this just sounds delusional to me. There is no way a robot can be a healthy and satisfactory substitution for genuine human interaction and love. To replace a partner or a friend with a rubber doll and a voice box is to hold onto something that isn't real. I think that by unveiling this "sex robot," Roxxxy's creators are headed down a dangerous path.

What next?

Sex robots are fine. They're a bit spendy for what they do, but if you want your masturbatory toys to have more umm... mass to them...

It certainly doesn't replace real interaction or real sex, but it's not as though we shouldn't fight for people's rights to have skeezy girlfriend pillows or pillow-talk robots or other make-believe toys. We should encourage them to experiment and release in a healthful manner.

Not that I'd want a talking dildo.

This is all a bit crazy and worrying, but then I think that the loons who would think this is a good idea would probably still be dysfunctional with or without this product available.

I do feel edgy that it does indeed glorify the sexual slave, but is this an over reaction?

If I were his friend who died in 9/11 I'd probably be spinning in my grave though right now. It's a creepy tribute, and for the man to say that it's not meant to be sexual is pathetic, based on the website where they sell it, the marketing literature and the demonstration which he gives (playing with the robots private parts to demonstrate her responsiveness). Mixed messages...

If a man wants to have a relationship with a sex doll that's a red flag to me something is ****ed up upstairs. That thing is downright creepy looking (not exactly feminine from that photo oddly enough). I dont think a sex doll is going to increase the odds the guy would rape someone. If anything he's more likely a shut-in who avoids interacting with real women. I cant think of any guys I know (who would admit openly anyway) who would see that "thing" and want a relationship with it.

Honestly, I feel very offended by the idea of Roxxxy. It's like a rubber doll can replace a human being, women especially. What happened to making love? With sex dolls, sex will be just a mindless, meaningless sex to the men. Perhaps some ignorant men enjoy this kind of sad thing. They don't appreciate women enough to give and take in a relationship, and with sex dolls, they can just take whatever they want.

Then again, I don't really know how men's mind work, so maybe this is just for entertainment purposes, nothing more.

I totally feel you, this is so off-putting and disturbing.

  • September 30, 2010 at 2:52 AM

I totally agree. We should also outlaw vibrators and sappy movies.

This is only the tip of the iceburg.

In 20-30 years, very convincing female substitutes will be quite affordable. That will be the end of this:

    http://www.eatliver.com/i.php?n=5363

"No matter how hot she is...
...someone, somewhere is sick of her shit."

Reproduction will also no longer require a female incubator (or a male sperm donor for that matter).

Life as we know it will soon be changed forever.

"My main problem with sex dolls that are carefully crafted to emulate women is that it reinforces the idea that women should adopt a passive role during sex - "

I'm sorry but this is stupid. The impression here is that there is a thought process that goes into the making of the doll where the makers specifically aim to reinforce the idea that women should adopt a passive role in sex, which quite frankly is a ridiculous assertion. First of all, how do you know this? Do you know the maker? Or are you just seeing it through whatever filters you choose to impose? You are the one who is choosing to see these evil machinations. Other people just see a sex doll.

" Additionally, I speculate that men are attracted to sex dolls because it allows them to have some form of "sex" without the work - without the talking, the seducing, the awkward goodbye afterwards - but the fact is that sex shouldn't come without all those things."

Once again, this is just your opinion. Sex *shouldn't* come without all those things? Said who? Is there some universal standard i am unaware of? Most arguments break down when the arguer jumps from facts to trying assert what should and what shouldn't be.

So, yeah.. What's your view on vibrators?

Same diff. The robot is just another form of masturbation.

  • September 30, 2010 at 8:39 AM

Are you against vibrators and dildos for women? Some of those dildos are advertised to have "life like skin and veins" that feel just like the real thing. EEEEWWWWW!!! GROOOOOSSSSS!!!

  • September 30, 2010 at 12:26 PM

Because women have become delusional cunts thanks to feminism, it's pretty obvious that these sex robots have a better personality that most women in america. I'm pretty sure that given a choice, most men would choose a sex robot to having to listen to a stupid yapping cunt like you :)

  • September 30, 2010 at 2:21 PM

Time to outlaw dildos and vibrators, then.

  • October 6, 2010 at 3:24 AM

Today the sex doll and robots so famous in sex toy category. For this you can fully satisfy like doing sex.I like this article and you can used other toys like vibrator and dildos also.

I grew up in America but recently I decided to expat to Eastern Europe. I for one would love a sex robot. I am so sick of women and their shit. They can call me a *creep* all they want. We all know they will be mad simply because I am no longer spending my MONEY on them.

Men have had enough ladies. We've developed technology to the point where we can feasibly replace you within 20 or 30 years.

People today don't walk, they drive or fly because it is a superior mode of transportation. Same for surgery. If you have a broken leg or cancer, you don't hope for your body to heal and fight it off alone, you use modern medicine.

Yet we stupidly still reproduce using the same ineffective and chance based system we have been using for hundreds of thousands of years.

Bullshit. Between sexbots for sex and artificial uteri for reproduction, the future looks rosy for men, who will still be able to build infrastructure and live with nature or technology or whatever pleases us, rather than put with your gender's childish and tiring bullshit in order to have children.

That day will suck for you, because when that happens you will have to learn to do real work again.

The competition just gets better and better.

  • December 22, 2010 at 5:46 PM

"it reinforces the idea that women should adopt a passive role during sex"

This is ridiculous. From my experiences, a well known complaint from men is that some women don't do anything in the sack, they just lie down like a lifeless corpse. I don't know any man who wants their partner to act dead like these dolls.

The reason these dolls don't move is because the technology isn't there yet. You can bet that the final product is one that will take an active role in the bedroom.

And I can hardly imagine these dolls encouraging rape. Men would more likely eschew real women and focus solely on having a relationship with the artificial intelligence of these robots.

Hell, it's a controversial subject, but I'd even support male/female pedophiles buying child-robots and doing their business in their homes as it would keep their hands off of my own real children.

  • December 23, 2010 at 1:55 PM

At least it wouldn't bombard you with pointless, never ending drivel, steal all your assets and bleed you dry to support a child you aren't allowed to see. They wouldn't be able to murder you and get away with it either.
As soon as these things get realistic enough you girls simply won't be needed anymore. You'll have to actually work for a living instead of whoring off young men that haven't woken up to your game yet followed by crippling alimony.
    Bring on the fembots!!

  • December 26, 2010 at 3:42 AM

Men want passive partners in bed? Are you on drugs?
What it means is that some men would rather a passive robot than put up with all the bs they receive from women and their business partners in the courtroom. Simply put, pairing up with a woman has become too risky, better to have a robot.
At least men are after something that at least looks human. What do women use? Something that looks like a dismembered cock. So who is the more base and loathsome human being in this situation? The man who wants a substitute human or the woman that wants a substitute for a dismembered body part?

  • January 20, 2011 at 11:17 AM

"it reinforces the idea that women should adopt a passive role during sex"

the fembot doesn't get it. it reinforces that you DON'T NEED women during sex at all in the beginning!

fembots always have the same mindset.. if it's not about them, then it's AGAINST them. bullshit. it always "me me me me". no wonder men commit suicide.

chill the f out! it's just a fancy masturbation machine. the fact that you get all hopped up about its production shows that you're just worried about your eggs drying up and no man would do you. MORE desperate warnings are, you're even getting lower than dirt by attacking creeps who want to jack off in a fancy way. leave those creeps alone.

for all it's worth, atleast rape can go down, if more of these creeps go home and fuck their dolls. FEMINISTS should actually, em, em, em, SUPPORT this creepy idea.

afterall, women don't need men. they've already won the gender war. they are independent, liberated, "fish & bicycle". you've gone all your life shaming men for being misogynistic rapist creepy pigs. now that they are being creepy alone at home doing their biznez, YOU RANT AGAIN! You GO GRRRL.

i say good for you creepies. buy the sexbots. better than fembots.

I think that it is better that they something like that instead of raping people out there. At least we know that they are under control

Excellent post I would to share this information:

A sex doll (also love doll or blow up doll) is a type of sex toy in the size and shape of a sexual partner for aid in masturbation.

The sex doll may consist of an entire body with face, or just a pelvic part, with the accessories (vagina, anus, mouth, penis) for sexual stimulation. The parts are sometimes vibrating and may be removable or interchangeable.

    Regards,
    Guillermo

I think that cheaper sex dolls are inflatable, using air. These dolls, representing the lowest price-range (less than $75), are usually made of welded vinyl and bear only a passing resemblance to actual people. They have an artificial and typically crudely designed vagina or penis, but due to their affordability many users are willing to overlook their shortcomings. They often burst at the seams after a few uses, although they are commonly given as gag gifts and therefore many may not be used at all.

At the middle market price-range ($100 to approximately $1,000), dolls are made of heavy latex without welded seams or a polyurethane and silicone mixture, typically surrounding a foam core. Most have plastic mannequin-style heads and styled wigs, plastic or glass eyes, and occasionally properly moulded hands and feet. Some contain water-filled body areas such as the breasts or buttocks.

    Best regards,
    Michael

it's time to freak the fuck out people, you know why? Because everything men do = rape.

You need to shut the fuck up and accept that the entire world doesn't revolve around the needs and wants of women, now men are sick of your crap and are looking for a way out, so to maintain female control over the masculine, obviously the feminists are going to make these things illegal, gotta keep men begging for sex willing to put up with your shit.

  • May 9, 2013 at 1:56 PM

Sex dolls are good, I think females are too complicated and require too much attention and are far too conteolling. A sex doll allows men to leave women alone isnt that what women want after all. Every where I go I here women complaining about how they wish men would leave them alone, now that sex dolls are here they dont have to worry about that. A sex doll isnt making women to be objects it taking attention away from women. Men dont have to bother women any more buy gifts to recieve anything in return from women. I think this is good now women can have more freedom to advance in work and pull thier own weight in society from hard labor.

I did everything society told me would help in achieving my goal, a wife, kids, a family. When that did not work then I actually looked at granola, fem pov dating tips, be the perfect guy. Well unsurprisingly none of it worked. None of it. I eagerly await the release of sexbots as currently ive been regularly spending money on whores. sex shouldn't come with out things like awkward goodbyes? It already does. Real whores/prostitutes/sexworkers, the false emotions cost extra, outside of that, its get off or expend your allotted time and then gtfo. Sexbots eliminates the dangers of stds and as some people saw fit to point out, those actually interested in sexbot companions, most likely understand there is no happy ending, I don't continue my family line, and after so many years of being alone and rejected, I no longer have anything to offer emotionally. At least let us die with some semblance of happiness, unless of course you want generations of lonely people who are now bordering on violent psychotic behavior to express themselves the only way they know how.

how is a sex doll any different to a dildo? It's not. both are just silicone replicas of human anatomy.

  • January 18, 2014 at 2:33 PM

You feminists can go to hell. You don't understand men. You are all selfish spoiled brats and controll freaks. Men have the right to choose sex doll and sex robots over women if they want to. I personally like enjoy real dolls and sexbots more than human women.

'There is no way a robot can be a healthy and satisfactory substitution for genuine human interaction and love." Correction: There is no way a man can be simply want sex, and get it, at moment's notice, as if it were like ordering a pizza. Another episode of women thinking that men are biologically wired the same way women are. LOL
