Getting closer to pay equity

President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act! It was quite the emotional event, since Lilly Ledbetter has been fighting her battle for pay equity for over ten years. It was in 1998 when she first filed a complaint after learning that her employers at Goodyear were paying her significantly less than her male coworkers.
Now, in 2009, the bill bearing her name is finally signed. It's so refreshing to hear about our president doing good things.

Obama is a great president. His presence is impacting grants like no other president prior. Grant funding for minorities and middle class have increased nearly 10,000% in the past week.

Brilliant! Though it's ridiculous to think there are still pay inequalities in this day and age. Good for her and good for President Obama, it's great to have him in power at last.
