Gym tries to humiliate people into joining

Check out this purely inexcusable advertising method instilled in the Netherlands by Fitness First, a worldwide chain of gyms.

Yes, that is what appears to be a bus stop, but when one sits down on the bench, one's weight is displayed in enormous red letters for all the world to see. It's really charming. I love that Fitness First wants to humiliate its customers.

I'm all for eliminating the shame that comes with revealing one's weight, and I will gladly wear a t-shirt that screams my weight as a form of feminist protest, but that's not at all what this sad excuse for an advertisement is trying to do. Their intentions are to mortify people into losing weight. And that's really fucking low.

What next?

Umm, it's a bench. Presumably have more than one person sitting on it, in outdoor clothes, with their bags.

My boots raise my weight by ten pounds; I shudder to think what the electronics in my pockets do.

It could be another picture of a donut pasted to a 'comically' enlarged posterior, too. Reminding people that one of many indicators they're not getting enough exercise is weight... At least, if it isn't genetic or short-term, weight is based upon activity more than diet.

I dunno, wouldn't get me to stand, either.

Why are we so obsessd with arbitrary numbers?? I have a friend who recently said he wanted to start working out to bulk up from 175 to 200. Whether we're talking fat or muscle mass, what happiness will a randomly decided number give you?

And I have to keep reminding people that the index for what a healthy weight per height is racial biased and hasn't been updated/corrected since it's invention.

Did anyone see those ads for New York Sports Club that said that thinner people are happier? *grumble*

If a person on the way to work decided to wait for the bus at the bus stop as usual will sat on the bench unconscious shame that awaits, once red electronic figures jump out of the blue billboard on the right and after a short time due to an optical illusion understands that it is its weight is shown in the middle daylight to everyone, just such a situation in this idea to advertise the company Fitness First creates unpleasant emotions etched deep in the cerebellum and last very long time there in memories, so that people with excess weight will eventually go to Fitness First, visit my blog Reklamiranje firme with detailed descriptions of advertisements
