Because at least with legalization, it can better be controlled. Prostitutes will be required to undergo tests for STDs, and there be far less cases of prostitutes being treated as sub-human by their clients and managers ("pimps").

Then again, in Germany, prostitution is legal, but over half of the working prostitutes there are illegal prostitutes. I feel like regulations can backfire and cause a false sense of security in people. A person who hires a prostitute may think he/she is legal, and therefore safe, when in reality, he/she might be illegal and perhaps not safe.

So, I think that if it is properly regulated, it can be a good thing. Less women would be forced into it; more would become prostitutes by choice. Not to say that I necessarily condone the actual act of selling sex, but I think that as long as it's going to be around, it should at least be controlled.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14867294546208139768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1630556584547798739.post-55244297491405347952008-03-30T14:49:00.000-04:002008-03-30T14:49:00.000-04:00i'd be interested to know, what are your feelings ...i'd be interested to know, what are your feelings on the legalization of prostitution?loophole to lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16941410666017240752noreply@blogger.com
