Wanting to be skinny

This is a video of an anorexic model; she weighs as little as 70 pounds. I'm aware that some men do suffer from anorexia, but not nearly as much as women do. I feel like "losing weight" or "not eating something" has crossed every females mind at least a dozen times. This video is so real that it's sickening. Woman shouldn't feel this pressure to be so skinny. As twisted as this modeling picture is, and the idea behind it- I feel like it could have a positive effect. I don't think that many women would look at that picture and dream to look that way. And hopefully most women would realize that this is how we should feel about any model- anorexic or not. Not everyone has the same body type, and not ever woman is meant to be tall and skinny. We should all love ourselves for the way we are- personality and body. No more letting society or models influence our decisions, especially when it comes to harming our personal health.

What next?

Wow. That video was very disturbing. It's sad that a lot of women today think that in order to be beautiful they have fill what society thinks is the "perfect body". I think it was very courageous of Isabelle Caro to use her own awful experience as an anorexic in order to spread awareness. And this video has over a million views - so it looks like this is happening.

The video was quite disturbing.when i was watching this video there is a clicked on my mind. Is our body image is so awful that it needs to be change? Now- a-days cosmetic surgery is very common among women. In other words, this is most common procedure use by women just to look good and sexy. However, we all know that cosmetic surgery is not only expensive but also risky. Have anyone of us ever think that why only women are so much concerned about their face and body? For instance, we have many actresses in Hollywood who have done that kind of surgery to look better and attractive. They are becoming younger, taller and thinner. On the other hand, men never have pressure to undergo such kind of risky surgery and diet because society has never put stress on man’s body image i.e. how they suppose to look and dress up in front of people. Indeed it’s only women who have to present according society norms. We can see many females in our surrounding including ourselves that we are very insecure about our own bodies and that is why many of us are more likely to buy beauty products and diet aids in order to look good and attractive. However, by using these products and diet aids many women have very bad consequences which are depression, loss of self-esteem and the development of unhealthy eating habits.

Even though I felt that this video was very disturbing and sad, I think it could also give a valid message. Women today should begin to realize that our views of "body image" are getting severely out of hand, and I hope this spreads a better awareness of how serious anorexia truly is.

The video was really disturbing. she was really skinny and it was horrifying to watch it. I can hardly believe that she can walk. Because the society demand thin bodies, she thought that she needed to be more skinnier than others to meet the demands.
