National Condom Week 2010

I didn't get a chance to post this earlier, due to our wonderful guest post series, but this week is:

National Condom* Week

(*It doesn't just have to be limited to condoms. It's excellent to promote other methods of safer sex as well, such as female condoms and dental dams).

Planned Parenthood's Facebook page has a bunch of things you can do to celebrate Condom Week. I got 1,000 condoms to pass out on my campus, and I'm sure my fellow students will be quite appreciative. Enjoy the week and promote safer sex!

What next?

I think that celebrating National Condom Week is a wonderful idea. It is a great way to get across the message of safe sex. It is important for everyone to be safe with a partner. Safe sex is something that should be promoted to everyone and the fact that Planned Parenthood is involved and is willing to help out is amazing. They are one of the largest supporters for teenagers and safer choices. On their Facebook page is a lot of wonderful ideas and I think it would do a lot of good especially around large universities.

National Condom Week is a tremendous idea in my opinion. I don't like the fact that some people think that this promotes sex. This concept is just trying to keep them safe because they know that people are having sex. I think that everyone would rather have people be safe about sex, than spread diseases or have a child that they aren't prepared for. People should definatly see the positive in this idea.

I think that this is a wonderful idea to promote safe sex. It's great that they passing out free condoms on campus because young adults are most likely to not practice safe sex. Safe sex is very important to avoid diseases and unwanted pregnancy. I also visited the FB page and I think it's awesome! :) Other people are definitely supporting it.

Although some people are seemingly upset about national condom week, I think it is a great thing to celebrate. For those that are sexually active, its important to be safe and to promote that to all people. Especially in teens these days being safe really brings about many more pros than cons. This is definitely a positive idea and wish that more people could see it that way. It is a huge accomplishment to even be promoting condoms this way as opposed to being hush hush about them, and being safe. Taking care of yourself is important! Everyone should realize this and embrace it!

I also agree that celebrating National Condom Week is a great idea. And it's so smart to pass out condoms across a university. So many people dont know where to go to get free condoms on campus and they don't want to spend the money, so they just don't practice safe sex which is very risky. I wish my university distributed free condoms publicly, it would be helpful to many students who "can't" get to the store or who are too embarrassed to ask their RA for condoms.
Promoting safe sex is awesome and its great that Planned Parenthood is getting involved. More organizations around campuses should also get involved in this.
