Not even equality in the after-life

Governor Carcieri, of Rhode Island, has decided that "domestic partners" can't be buried next to each other, i.e. same-sex couples.

"This bill represents a disturbing trend over the past few years of the incremental erosion of the principles surrounding traditional marriage, which is not the preferred way to approach this issue," said Carcieri.

Are you serious?

I certainly think religious organizations should be able to refuse access to their cemeteries... But geez, it's awful close to public accommodation.

What does this have to do with marriage? Was their a clause saying that married people couldn't make arrangements?

That's so fucking crazy, I almost can't believe it! What? Do they think the corpses will get it on if left too close together?!

There's no end to the intolerance, is there?

What the hell are they thinking?

It really seems to me that either the homophobia is coming to light more, or that it has reached new heights. I am continually more and more disturbed over the way gays and lesbians are being seen and portrayed, as well as attacked, by media, government, and public sources.

The other day I went online and watched the newest Stargate Universe episode, only to read the reviewer's comments and get so angry - people were focusing on the fact that there is a lesbian couple (well represented too, in my opinion, without being a 'girl on girl' plea to the audience at all) - they were calling it a 'push for the gay agenda'. SERIOUSLY?

What is wrong with people? And it is so bad that I don't even know how to help without things getting out of hand.

So basically... "Gays, we hate you so much that we don't even want you to be with each other in death."
