New indie movie stars Carrey and McGregor as lovers

The next time someone asks you, "Hey, did you see that gay movie?" they might actually not be talking about "Brokeback Mountain" or "Milk" - cause there's a new homosexual piece of cinema in town.

"I Love You Philip Morris" stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor as lovers (what an attractive pairing!). Carrey plays Steve, a married Good Christian Man, who, after being in an accident, has a revelation that he's gay. As a con man, he lands himself in jail, where he meets Philip (McGregor), and the two fall in love. Thereafter, it's a constant struggle for the shy and sweet Philip to keep up with his new boyfriend, who refuses to give up his life of crime.

It's tough to judge this having not seen it. From the trailer, it looks like a quirky comedy, in which Carrey plays more of a stereotypical gay man, as opposed to the characters in "Brokeback Mountain," who sported every sign of being completely straight - well, except for that whole anal sex thing.

You be the judge.

What next?

I bet the tobacco industry put that movie together to make people subconsciously want to smoke cigarettes.

I know! How weird is it that his name is Philip Morris?

This makes me love Jim Carrey even more (well, they're both awesome, but I happen to have a longstanding crush on Jim). I also noticed that Rodrigo Santoro (dude who said "what the fuck are you talking about") is in the movie.. and he's pretty awesome too.

I can't wait for the day where a movie can be about gay characters and not have to be segregated as a "gay movie".
