Bush Sr. talks about his encounter with a feminist

This was posted on Feministing, and is just too appalling to not post here as well. Enjoy Bush Senior's extremely sexist and offensive story about his encounter with an "ugly" feminist:

"One time we thought we'd outsmarted the crowd. We sent a decoy limosine off in one direction while I snuck out the back entrance. And we rounded the corner -- I'll never forget it -- and I saw one of the ugliest and angriest women I have ever seen in my entire life. Boy, she was really bad. And she charged my car with a sign... and came up right next to the window: 'Stay out of my womb!' No problem, buddy."

I am just so utterly disgusted by this man. I'm also rather upset that Bill Clinton did virtually nothing to defend us.

What next?

I saw this recently--I was shocked. Not only might that poor woman be majorly offended if she knows she is the butt of his story, but he is painting a picture of all pro-choice women and feminists as ugly, aggressive, desexualized beings.

As for Clinton, I agree--he just regarded it as a simple tasteless joke, and said nothing to reverse the stereotype.

Even the media, I think, just highlighted it as "crazy old-man-speak" and not as a dangerous bias with real consequences for feminism and pro-choice groups.

Wow, yeah, that's just a funny "joke". I don't get it.

Oh those crazy feminists! With their naturally-aged skin, their aggression against oppressive patriarchs and their completely justified hatred for the Bush family.

Hey! I've got a joke for Mr. Bush: I once met a republican. He dropped a bomb on my house and then announced that he was reducing my home owner's tax!
