Roommates.com banned from asking about sexual orientation

Recently, a U.S. appeals court ruled that Roommates.com was no longer allowed to require its users to list their sexual orientation on their profiles. Unlike most websites, which give you the option to leave that question unanswered, Roommates.com made it mandatory to disclose your orientation. Why was this? I have no fucking clue. Maybe to further encourage people to stick to their own "kind" and thus increase the self-segregation? Three judges who voted against amending the website believed that intervening on websites is dangerous in the sense that it might open a can of worms. I think more dangerous is a world in which we have to wear our sexual orientations on our sleeves.

Just my two cents.

What next?
